Did you know?
Everyone offering any form of clearance service should be Environment Agency registered and have a paper trail of a transfer of waste to a licenced weight station for each job. This transfer is costly ( approximately £190 per tonne plus additional charges for certain items - for example mattresses)
However going for the cheapest quote on a property clearance can be very much a false economy. There are unethical people out there and once the goods have left your hands were they to fly tip them you would in theory also be liable.
Do any of the items get recycled?
On any job we will identify items that have 'second life' potential. Books and clothing usually fall into this category. However given that we are doing often multiple clearances a week a significant proportion will always be trade waste. We are always on the look out for charity partners and art schools or practitioners who want certain materials. Please email if this is you.
